Sculpture Garden

The Land of 10,000 Lakes Welcomes You!

Meet in a city that's cool and warm, laid-back and state-of-the-art, beautiful and booming. With a vibrant downtown located on the Mississippi River, you'll discover energy, excitement and entertainment.

Discover Nicollet Mall, downtown's 11-block main thoroughfare. The clean, welcoming street is a doorway to some of the best restaurants, shopping, entertainment and hotels in town. Then follow your stomach down Nicollet Avenue, otherwise known as Eat Street! Diverse and delicious, it's where east meets west, north meets south and the upper Midwest gets a good Chile Relleno, Szechwan Wonton, Spanakopita or Wiener Schnitzel. African, Asian, American, Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, or Mexican: it's temptation in the form of over 55 different restaurants and food markets in the span of about 17 blocks. Eat Street begins near the front door of the Minneapolis Convention Center on Grant Street and heads south along Nicollet Avenue to the new Midtown Greenway at 29th Street.

Look for buses marked "Free Ride" and pay no fare when boarding along Nicollet Mall. You'll have an easy ride between the Convention Center and the Hiawatha Light-Rail line. Your ride is green, too - only hybrid buses operate on Nicollet Mall!

Free Ride buses are available every day from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. and run every 10 minutes on weekdays and every 15-30 minutes on weekends. Pay just 50 cents if you ride within the Downtown Zone on any other bus along Nicollet Mall.
