General Questions

Can I register at the conference?
Yes, you can register on site at the conference as well as online prior to March 17, 2014. Click here for registration information and rates.

What should I wear? What will the weather be like?
Please dress comfortably. Dress for conference events is business casual. Traditional national dress is welcome. April temperatures in Washington D.C. are usually 47-67 degrees Fahrenheit with an average temperature of 55 degrees Fahrenheit (12 degrees Celsius). Be sure to pack some outdoor clothes to participate in off-site service projects. You never know whether you will be trimming trails or planting trees!

Are there places to eat near the hotels and convention center?
Yes, there is quite an offering of restaurants and shopping within blocks of the Washington Marrriott Wardman Park.

When will I find out about my scholarship application?
Email notification will be sent out to all applicants by December 13, 2013.

How do I sign up to volunteer?
In the true spirit of service, volunteers make the conference run. Please visit the volunteer page for details.

Hotel Questions

What are the conference hotels?
The conference hotel is the Washington Marriott Wardman Park. Not only is the Marriott the headquarter hotel but it is home to all conference activities.

How do I make my hotel reservations for the conference?
To receive special conference hotel rates, you must book your rooms directly with the Washington Marriott Wardman Park.

Will my group’s hotel rooms all be on the same floor?
If you require multiple hotel rooms on the same floor, please make that request upon reservation or check-in. Due to the volume of attendees, the hotel cannot guarantee that all rooms will be next to each other.

Can I pay for my hotel with a check or purchase order?
To book a hotel online, you will need a credit card. If you need to pay by check or purchase order, please contact the hotel directly at 1-800-228-9290.

What meals are included with registration?
Wednesday, April 9: Welcome Celebration
Thursday, April 10: breakfast and lunch
Friday, April 11: breakfast and lunch
Saturday, April 12: breakfast

When will I get my conference badge and materials?
All badges must be picked up on site. The program guide and other materials will be available at the Material Pick-Up booth in the registration area.

How do I know what's going on each day?
You can find a schedule and information about conference events in the Schedules and Highlights section of this website. At the conference, you will receive a program guide with a schedule of all events. An electronic copy of the program guide will also be posted on the conference website in February. A conference app will also launch in March, making conference information easily accessible from your mobile device.

Where will the workshops be held?
All of the conference's workshops will be held in the Washington Marriott Wardman Park. Onsite, check your program guide for room details.
