Wednesday, March 13

Newcomers Orientation
4:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m.
New to service-learning or the conference? Confused by terms like "thought leader session," "plenary session," and "conference track"? Join us for this informal networking session. We'll help you get your bearings, answer your questions, and make the most of the conference. A "don't miss" event for first-time attendees.

Opening Plenary Session
5:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m.
Join your fellow conference participants to hear inspirational leaders talk about the state of service-learning, service, and volunteerism. What is on the horizon for service-learning? What resources will be available to you? These and many of your other questions will be answered in the opening session of Without Limits.

Welcome Celebration and Exhibit Hall Grand Opening
6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.
Don't miss your opportunity to eat, sing, dance, and experience the vast diversity of Colorado as we celebrate the opening of Without Limits! Meet representatives from nonprofits oriented to service and education, companies working with the service-learning movement, and national-service organizations.

Networking Gatherings and Receptions

Be prepared to be surprised as you gather with colleagues for an educational networking experience you will not forget! Check your program guide for specific times and locations.

    Location: Hyatt Regency Denver, Mineral Hall A - C
    Come to the Youth Room for games, food, and networking. Celebrate the future with the beginning of the conference!
  • International Reception
    Location: Convention Center 502
    For international guests and those interested in international applications of service-learning.
  • Indigenous Forum Reception
    Location: Convention Center 501
    Join your fellow conference attendees at the Indigenous Service-Learning Forum Reception. Create bonds of friendship with people from diverse tribal nations, communities, clans, families, schools and organizations.
  • Youth Service America Informational and Networking Session
    Location: Convention Center 503
    Planning a Global Youth Service Day project? Ever received a grant from YSA? GYSD project organizers and YSA grantees – and anyone interested in learning more about YSA – are invited to join YSA staff for networking and updates on the latest news from YSA. This is also an opportunity for anyone interested in learning more about YSA to find out how to participate in Global Youth Service Day or Semester of Service, how to apply for the $1 million in YSA Grants available each year, and how to access our free resources and trainings.

Thursday, March 14

Networking Roundtables
8:00 a.m. – 8:45 a.m.
Join fellow attendees to informally explore topics, pose and discuss questions, and to gather critical feedback on your projects and ideas. Held each morning during breakfast, networking roundtables of predetermined topics will be hosted by practitioners and organizations. There will also be opportunities for attendees to pose their own topic at a table. Participants are welcome to stay the entire breakfast or move from table to table.

Colorado Service-Learning Council Meet-Up
8:00 a.m. – 8:45 a.m.
Location:  Convention Center
Interested in learning about and being part of Colorado’s plans to galvanize service-learning in our state? Join us for a breakfast discussion and connect with members of the Colorado Service-Learning Council for dynamic conversation and idea-sharing on ways to take service-learning in our state to the next level. The Colorado Service-Learning Council (CSLC) is a coalition of P-20 institutions, government agencies, non-profit agencies, and corporations that supports service-learning as a teaching and learning strategy in Colorado.

Join your fellow conference participants for exciting entertainment and keynote speeches.

Service-Learning Showcase
1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
The service-learning showcase highlights high quality service-learning projects from across the country and around the world. Talk with people about their projects to learn how service-learning is implemented, how they connected service to their curricular goals, what impact their projects have had, and what makes them effective. Stroll through the showcase and pick up ideas to take back home.

Showcases will be set up for the duration of the conference but will be staffed during the designated hours of 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. on March 14 and 15.

    Join us in the Youth Room for entertainment and activities with your fellow youth attendees.
  • Service-Learning Young Professionals Off-Site Networking Event
    7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
    Location: Howl at the Moon, Downtown Denver (cover charged after 9:00 p.m.)
    Arrive when you can, entertainment starts at 8:00 p.m.
    The Service-Learning Young Professionals are dedicated to the practice of service-learning in education. Each year, young professionals as well as experienced veterans are welcome to attend this networking event to meet others from around the country.
    We encourage you to stay connect to other professionals in the service-learning field year-round by joining the Service-Learning Young Professionals group on NYLC’s Generator School Network at gsn.nylc.org.

NYLC’s National Youth Leadership Training Breakfast
8:00 a.m. – 8:45 a.m.
Location: Colorado Convention Center
The National Youth Leadership Training is a life-changing week of adventure, self-discovery, cultural exchange, leadership building and service. Past participants are invited to join us to reminisce about their experience and learn about ways to get involved in NYLC’s alumni network. Those interested in attending NYLT this summer can learn more about the experience and talk to past participants about how their camp experience changed their lives!

Day of Service

Don’t just visit Denver – give back!

We invite all conference attendees to give back to the Denver community during the Day of Service. In partnership with the Piton Foundation and Earth Force, attendees are welcome to tour The Children’s Corridor in Denver and participate in a service project hosted in the Corridor.
